I "stumbled upon" you in my websurfing and decided to share what I've been thinking about lately. I don't know why, but lately I've been seeing things in a whole new way. I'm starting to feel a bit programmed, by society, to be a consumer. To spend, spend, spend. To need more, want more, gorge and indulge myself; take, take, take; more, more, more. We've been taught that this is what keeps the economy going. But the economy isn't going. Anywhere. It's dying. What's wrong with this picture? Perhaps the entire premise is off. I could want less. I could reign myself in. I could use less, need less, consume less. Perhaps, instead of being programmed to be a glutonous consumer, I could be a producer. Perhaps, I could produce more. Perhaps I could produce what I myself consume, produce what my family consumes, and be less of a burden on society. Perhaps I could produce enough to actually help society, benefit society. Perhaps, I could feed the earth, nurture the earth beneath my feet. Perhaps by nurturing her she could nurture me. Perhaps a symbiotic relationship between myself and the earth could develop. Perhaps, I am actually here to give.

You know Monica, these thoughts could become addictive - you could cross over to the other side and start thinking like......one of us!! Sounds like you'll fit right in.

HI & Welcome Monica
This way of thinking is addictive ! I now look at everything before i throw it out and see if I have another use for it first . Funny thing is I didnt think they paid much attention to what I do but My Grandkids are watching !!! And they dont think Grammie is a nut LOL So maybe what i do and they read HG when they are here with me they will learn and take all on with them when they have their own homes ! |

Thank you all so much for fostering my continued growth! Now I know where to come when I have 'how-to' questions.
