If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Billow, Your post nicely addresses the crux of it. I agree, having our forebears as a standard helps put the priorities right. |

We have been beat up so bad financially this year, that it has helped me to re-prioritize what is really important and necessary in life. Sometimes we have to be reduced to our lowest levels to see/feel the IMPORTANT things.
I am thankful that I paid attention in my Grandma's kitchen and my husband's Grandmother's kitchen as well. I find myself thinking about them a lot these days and doing things they way they did. I even learned to wash out ziploc bags. I have not washed tinfoil yet tho...

My dad's mantra has always been "Do it right the first time." I find myself repeating it to my sons. It can apply to so many things, from building something to my boys' homework, not only saving money, but time as well. My mom still "pinches pennies till they scream."

A bargain ain't a bargain unless it's something you need.
