Does anyone like their pudding cooked as opposed to the instant kind you just add to milk? I am sitting here with a happy grin as I just devoured a still very warm bowl of chocolate pudding. YUM It's one of my fav things. I seem to prefer most desserts warm - cobblers, coffee cake, pies.......

Anyway I used the Jello Pudding mix that has to be cooked on the stove rather than the instant but I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it from scratch????? Tried and true recipe of course.

I use to cook it all the time, but we hardly eat it anymore. I found it just too expensive to purchase.

It would be nice if someone did have a recipe for it.

I used to make it, and I must say the cooked is nicer and smoother. (too many diets later, I've not done it in years but I love it-- I should restart the recipe again, and see if Splenda will help) :hurray:

I've had the instant, and it's sort of "gritty" or something, not creamy smooth.

You sure don't want my recipe! I tried making it the other day... :icon2:
But I think I know what the problem was. Maybe I'll be brave enough to try again.

I love cooked pudding. YUMMY! I have fond memories of my mom making it when I was a kid and try to make it for mine sometimes instead of the snack packs.
