Ironing is one of my most disliked tasks -- I just can't stand to do it! I used to do it regularly, but when my fibroflares up it is really a pain!
Anyway, dh has been ironing his own shirts for some time now (I LOVE this man!!) but he's been using reg. water, not distilled. The iron has become quite gunky and is letting off rust stains. He tried doing the self cleaning feature, but it is still a mess. I'm going to try to use a toothpick to work at the steam vents, but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting vinegar in the h2o spout and used that to clean it. Any thoughts? TIA!

I used to do the vinager/water, when I used to iron. Use White vinagar only tho, it works on coffee pots too...
