I'm on a roll here. I had a piece of Debbie Mumm material that was an apron and oven mitts. I cut it out and then thought, why not make oven mitts to match my aprons. I went on the hunt for some Warm & Natural batting and found enough to make oven mitts as well as the aprons. Then I thought, okay why not make pot holders to match. Yup, I'm making those too!! Everything is going to match. I don't have oven mitts and only have 2 pot holders. Now I'll have extras.
Not only that, but I have enough warm and natural to make oven mitts for my 2 dil's, along with matching pot holders and aprons for Christmas 2004. I don't have to purchase anything to do these. If you don't see much of me the next few days, you know I'm sewing up a storm.

Chelle, I was not getting much done either, until I got these aprons patterns from a friend. Here is what I have cut out:
Kwik sew pattern #3046 B
kwik sew pattern #2311 A & B
Kwik sew pattern #1797 A & C
Tomorrow I'll be sewing them up.

Do you use cast iron pans? Or, Glass lids?
I have one pot handle holder, I just love it. It is like a long pocketed, potholder and slips on the handles of my cast iron. I can't live without it. Then I've seen circles of potholder material made for lifting the glass lids. I bet you could make an elastic gathered "hat" type thing for the glass lid knobs and have a wonderful set.

CJ, did you trace the patterns before cutting them out? I love KS's paper vs. the usual tissue paper, but I hate tracing out the patterns to save for later (though I have to add here that I've only made KS kids clothes and not something where I may only need one size)

Chelle, nope didin't trace the patterns. I never trace the patterns to anything I sew. Takes too much time. I've used KS before and have sewn up a pair of pj's for Michael and have used the same pattern over and over again. It never tears and is great paper. I'm just careful when I cut that I don't cut the little points off.
btw - I'll take pictures of the aprons and post them when I get the film developed. Actually thats what I'm working on right now, sewing aprons. :icon_wink
