Because of the way our kitchen is, behind our kitchen cupboards there is absolutely no insulation and where our lazy Susan is, we could keep our milk cold I'm sure. We need to take our kitchen cupboards apart and insulate the whole one wall.

Now we've done a part of that and when we did, the cupboards were so old they came apart. I really miss the cupboard that we have taken down and I know the same will probably happen when we do the rest of the insulation.
Now being very frugal, I'm wondering if dh could build us a new set of kitchen cupboards.

Has anyone done this? How easy is it to do? Or would it be just as cost effective to go to a kitchen's seconds store and pick up some odds and ends cupboards do you think?

You might talk to a kitchen remodeler about getting some, they are tearing out. I am hoping to get mine that way.

What a great idea. I'd love some cabinets-counter top for our workroom and even our family room has a bar area that I'd love to add some to.

CJ...When we first bought this house in 1964, we bought the basic amount of cupboards. Later Jim built a bar type thing with cupboards above & below..that opened on both sides. They were alot of work to make & finish. It might be a good solution to check out close-out deals at a lumber co.
