I would really like to make this day special for my family. What type of traditions do you celebrate with your family for Valentine's Day. Want to share them.

I've always tried to do something special for my sweetheart on this day. I usually make his favorite meal (meat and potatoes...lol) and a fav. dessert. When our dk's were small I would get them a little box of chocolates or something but now I'm just sending them a V-Day card with some little something....this year it's going to be a cute notepad and pen. I just want them to know they are still a big part of the love in my life ;)

I usually make one of DH's favorite meals (meat & potatoes too!!) :hurray:
And get the kids a little something like a small box of candy or some other thing. We don't go all out....just try to let each other know they are loved in some simple way.

I also make little packages to send to my nieces and nephews who live away. Usually a homemade valentine and some candy or gum or stickers. Nothing big but they think it's fun to get a surprise in the mail, and I love Valentine's Day, so it's fun for me to put the packages together too!

I'm a bit embarrassed to say I haven't ever really gone all out on Valentine's Day for Gabe. I have bought him cards in the past, but not even every year. He has bought me roses, houseplants, blooming plants, cards, chocolates, dinner, etc. He's also bought candy for Zachary on Valentine's Day too.

I'd like to start some type of tradition here too.
