Its winter, so there isn't much going on right now. I've been going through my T&T seed catalogue and planning my garden come spring.

I've been working on my challenge quilt, hand quilting. I find hand quilting so relaxing and very enjoyable, although my fingers are getting a bit sore from all the needle pricks.

We've been working on finishing the windows (putting in a strip to make up the difference of the 2 inch walls we increased our 4 inche walls by) so we can start the decorating process and then put up the window frames. Dh still needs to do around the doors yet.

Along with all the little everyday things, winter is usually a time of rest and reflection on our homestead.

Whats happening on yours?

We're still working on getting the house ready to list for sale and searching for something to buy (that search isn't going well, however).

I'm still picking kale. DH and DD are working really hard to keep up the woodpile. DS is my shadow, so whatever I'm doing is what he's doing. We're getting ready to order some currants and some gooseberries to plant, as well as trying some rutabagas and a new variety of daikon. Eating out of the pantry and freezer as much as possible, madly knitting socks and shawls to help the woodstove keep us warm. I'm trying to think of anything else, just mainly those things and dreaming while I pour over houseplan books looking for those that could sustain a soapstone woodstove for heating and a wood cookstove for cooking. That's about it, I think.
