Our house is a bit dark. :( We have one room that is pretty sunny, but the others are not as bright as I wish they were. We have quite a lot of trees surrounding us. It gets so shady that moss grows on a lot of our neighbor's roofs and moss grows on many of our trees here too.

Our house is also pretty shady. The dining room gets the most sun. The living room and bedrooms do not get much. We have trees on all sides. I love them for the shade and that they help to keep us cool but I would like a tiny bit more brightness.

Not near enough. I love natural light, it just makes you feel so much better, kwim.
The bedrooms upstairs have great light. The living room does as well. Our m/bedroom doesn't get much and the kitchen hardly any. Thats the area I would really like to have more natural light. There are only 2 small windows, the long narrow ones. One is where the outside porch roof is, so you don't get hardly any light from it.
Things that you kinda wish you had looked for before you bought, kwim. Although I wouldn't trade my home for another one, there are a few areas that I would love to change if I could.

Not near enough light for me either!!!! My bedroom and our kitchen and family room are all facing east so we good great sunlight in the morning but my biggest gripe is that our family room gets really dark in the late afternoon when the sun is on the other side of the house. We have been talking about painting and picking a good color to make the room bright!!!!!!!!!!

I do now :sun_smile I have a big window in the livingroom and a window above my kitchen sink and then one in the bedroom/office next to my computer. In the evening when the sun goes down it comes through my bedroom/office window & in the summer it gets really hot in here but it also feels nice to have the :sun_smile light up the house :)
Where I used to live though, I had to have lights on from the time we got up until the time we went to bed :icon_mad:

We get lots of natural light. We have a huge window in our living room and another fairly large window in the eating area. No large trees for shade either. I love all the light! In the summer our house gets very hot though because of no shade and getting the sunlight shining in the house from sun rise to sun set.
Our bathroom has a large skylight and we rarely turn on the light. Even for those middle of the night bathroom visits we don't turn on the lights. The stars and moon light it up enough.

We have sun coming through the the whole living room all day. The sun is also there all day in one bedroom upstairs and in the side of the basement.
But it is quite lighted in our home, since it is very small, the sunlight of the living room, goes to the kitchen, too. :)
