Well I thought a pantry peek might be fun. Give some ideas, get some ideas.

I like to store the following:

Grain Grinding supplies:
Wheat kernels
popcorn (I also pop it)
barley (also in soups)
buckwheat (also for kasha)
millet (in the freezer, small bags, it goes off easy)
Rice

BAKING NEEDS:
Flour (even with a grain grinder I like all purpose on hand) in 10 kg sacks. (22 lbs)

As Strawberry pointed out to me a long time ago, having an extra sack on hand BEFORE winter starts is nice, so you aren't struggling to get 20 lb sacks of flour out to the car from the store, bouncing the cart on ice ruts, then slipping and sliding into the house. She is a smart cookie that one! I had never thought that thru before, but I've done it her way ever since. Same for rice, pasta etc.

Yeast
Skim milk powder
Sugar
Salt
OLIVE OIL
Honey
Corn syrup
Brown Sugar (but I've got a recipe to make yr own, i'll give it)
Molasses
Pancake Syrup or Maple syrup (fridge)

DESSERTS:
Cake mix for a fast cake for a party
Icing sugar
Dream Whip powdered whip topping in case I don't have whipping cream on hand
Canned evaporated milk (can be partly frozen and whipped too)
Jello (no name is great)
Pudding mixes (no name is great)
Canned Pineapple
Canned mixed fruit
Home canned peaches, apricots, pears, applesauce
Frozen plum halves, sour cherries, rhubarb, blueberries, strawberries and cranberries.

MEALS:
Canned soups:tomato, crm of mushroom, chicken noodle
canned tomato paste
canned diced tomatoes in juice
canned crushed tomatoes

PASTA:
Spaghetti (big 5 kg packs-- 11 lbs)
Macaroni (big 5 kg box--11 lbs)
Lasagne noodles (i like to buy from the bulk bin, to get the unbroken ones)
Manicotti

EXTRAS:
Bottled Lemon Juice
Vinegar
Balsamic Vinegar
Ketchup
Mayonnaise (i have a spare on the shelf, no more, it has a limited life)
Pickles sweet and dill

Not an exhaustive list, I'll doubtless remember more, but a start.
Brown sugar recipe to follow

for when you need some, and the store isn't possible. :biggrinki

With MOLASSES
and WHITE SUGAR
you are set! :boat:

OK pour 4 cups white sugar in your food processor (knife blade set up, the normal one) and run while drizzling in

4 tsps (not quite, a bit less) of molassess in the spout.

Thats it.

EVEN EASIER METHOD:

I prefer just dripping a little molasses into the recipe and adding the correct amt of sugar same as for brown.

PORPORTIONS ARE:
1 cup white sugar
SCANT tsp of molasses. :hearts:

I'm one of the lucky ones, I got to see Margery's pantry. Nothing fancy but oh so functional. :bananadan

My pantry consists of:
-popcorn (lots of it)
-canned tomatoes (diced, crushed and whole, and chili tomatoes)
-canned salmon
-vegetarian chili
-beans
-kidney beans
-canned milk
-peanut butter
-gallon cooking oil
-molasses (I purchase this in large containers at health food store)
-olive oil
-salt
-powdered skim milk (I mix half and half with 2% for drinking and for baking I use only powdered milk)
-teas - different varieties (we don't drink coffee)
-hot chocolate (for the kids)
-pasta (spaghetti, macaroni & fettucinne)
-rice (I purchase in 20 lb. bags)
-barley

-grains (I grind all my own grain and only use whole wheat in all my baking)
-sugar (although I did find you can now purchase Roger's organic sugar)
-brown sugar
-yeast (I purchase in 2 lb. containers & freeze)
-spices (all varieties I purchase in bulk)

The following I can myself
-fruits - peaches, pears & applesauce, along with apple juice
-jams/jellies
-chili sauce
-salsa

What I'm out of - I usually have these in stock, but right now I need to get some.

-honey (I try to purchase this in bulk, but the price is getting almost prohibitive. I found a farmer who sells it near us.)

non-food items
-toilet paper (I have to have lots of this, just feel more at ease when I do)
-deodarant
-Goodnights for ds#2
-feminine supplies for dd
-laundry soap (I purchase this in huge containers, the largest I can get)
-dish soap
-hand soap (although I'm working on making my own)

I'll probably think of more later and add to this list.

Just looked in my pantry and I need to spend this weekend straightening it up and making sure that there aren't any expiration dates closing in.
