Canadian gardener 01-06-2004, 02:36 AM too funny CJ, I was going to tell you anyway that dd got a couple of Quilter's newsletter magazine out of the library today. She is busy getting ready for another quilt. She bought some more fabric at Walmart Saturday, and is gearing up for some cloth tranquilizers to get her thru this semester. In the creative process at present.
Old fashioned mamma 01-06-2004, 02:46 AM Woo hoo there is nothing like quilting to use as a subsitutue for tranquilizers. What colors did she pick this time and what pattern. Oooh I can hardly wait to see it, she did such a wonderful job of her last one. Tell her I'm cheering her on. :yippee:
Canadian gardener 01-06-2004, 02:52 AM She is dictating the answer to me as I write. She looked pink and pleased at your compliment CJ.
"Lot more graduation of colour, playing with that a lot more, pinks, blue, if I can find a green I like there's going to be more graduations of green. I'm thinking of doing the little 2 to 3 inch blocks in strips. The pattern fades from light to dark or dark to light, haven't decided which.
the other thing, was maybe part of the quilt would be like that not the whole thing. A central motif, and in the border repeated in smaller motifs."
Canadian gardener 01-06-2004, 02:52 AM Her mother here, again, so she is playing with colour again.
Old fashioned mamma 01-06-2004, 02:57 AM Ooooh I like that, another person with a fascination with color. WTG Syl.
Sounds like a really cool quilt.
cozyquilter 01-06-2004, 05:16 AM Hi CJ, good to "see" you again..I have missed all you quilting information!! You are such a treasue trove of the art of quilt making!!
I just finished for Christmas 3 tabletoppers. Then I think I will finish a Christmas lap quilt I started a number of years ago. After that??? Who knows, never enough time to quilt as I would like. :ponder:
Old fashioned mamma 01-07-2004, 06:10 PM Heh cozyquilter, its good to hear your still finding some time to quilt, even if your time is limited.
Remember the challenge quilt I did, well I'm still hand quilting that one. Its taking a long time, but my goal is to have it finished by the end of June 2004. Notice I did put 2004 there!! I did that quilt when we were at fm.
Anyone else quilting?
Michelle 01-10-2004, 10:28 PM I am working on several things: a sampler wallhanging for my mother, which I cannot wait to be finished with, an angel wallhanging (applique), checkerboard quilted placemats, a rail fence lap quilt for a charity.
I am also doing some sewing projects too which are taking away from my quilting.
I'm about to drop all of it though to make a quick lap quilt for Dave for our anniversary. :)
calico 01-11-2004, 03:41 PM I finally finished DH's Christmas quilt! lol!! I am now working on the tutorial quilt again. Christmas things put away so I've got my space back!!
Old fashioned mamma 01-11-2004, 03:42 PM Ds#1 just drew the name for this contest and the winner is:
