This is one area I'd like to learn how to do. I'd love to do a bit in my bathroom and then in my kitchen.

Have you done any? How have you used stencils to decorate with? In what area of your home?

Yes. I have an ivy vine stenciled over the opening between the living room and dining room. In our previous house I had stenciled hummingbirds around the downstairs hallway/foyer, stenciled ribbons/bows over the windows in our bedroom, and sponge-painted hearts as a border around dd's room. I keep thinking about doing more in this house but it's not victorian like our other house so I don't have as many spaces to do it. I do plan to stencil something flowery on the porch swing this summer. Give it a try CJ, it's so easy and can be addictive

This is something I'd like to try too. I would love to do some floral stencilling or stamping in our bedroom, my kitchen, and my sewing room.

Are you going to try it soon CJ?

Yes I am going to definitely try it Michelle. I have a hallway upstairs that needs painting in the spring. I'm going to try it there first, because if I make a mistake or don't like it, there won't be a whole lot of trouble changing it. Its not that long a hallway. The lady that had our home did some but she didn't do a very good job and I really don't like it.

I'd also eventually like to do it going up my stairs from the main floor to the top floor. I'd like to stencil in a fence, with flowers behind it.

Stencilling goes so well with Victorian. I'm a little apprehensive about trying it without knowing a bit more about it. I'm going to see if I can find some books at the library and do some reading up on it.

I haven't but I'm going to as well Cj. I bought that old set of french provincial style furniture for dd#2's bedroom and I'm going to paint it black and stencil on it. (before long)

Iin our old house I did the border in the boys room. I found a horse stencil and a neighbour told me to use a sponge to apply the paint and it worked great!

I haven't done any inside the house but did lots in the garden. I stencilled ivy up the posts of my outside workbench and on the railings of my steps. It came out very good, and I used just the regular outside paint.
