I'm big time into organic although I don't like the prices. If at all possible, I purchase organic foods. Superstore, Safeway and IGA have all brought in organic foods. I love the taste of organic and I love knowing that pesticides, etc. have not been put on the food I'm consuming.

I grow (except for last year) all my own veggies and do it all organically. Absolutely no pesticides or chemicals of any kind are put on my garden. I use compost for fertilizer.

I also have started to purchase organic fruits at a health food store, along with cheese, eggs and any dairy products that they sell. I find the taste exceptional. The price is a different story, but I'm been trying to budget in extra $$ in order to purchase as much organic foods as I can.

Do you purchase organic foods? If so, what and where do you purchase it? Do you find the prices are too high?

There is a terrific organic Salad mix that Costco and the major grocery stores carry that I love. It's baby salad greens, it keeps a long time in the fridge and doesn't need chopping or tearing before use, it's prewashed. perfect for adding to sandwiches or shaking out as an impromptu salad.

We try to buy everything organic - butter, eggs, milk, OJ, fruits, veggies, you name it. We no longer eat beef or pork, but do try to make sure the chicken and turkey we purchase is organic.

We have a Wild Oats health food store here and two grocery stores - Publix and Albertson's - carry a few organic items. Publix has been expanding their selection, which I am very happy about, but they don't have much in the way of fresh fruits and veggies at all. For that matter, most of the fresh fruits and veggies that Wild Oats sells are conventional rather than organic.

I do hate the prices. Ugh! I try to stock up when things are on sale and then we just make meals based on what we have on hand.

We very much are looking forward to having our own garden once we get moved. We will definitely do it all organically and dh is wating to look into getting certified so that we could sell what we grow - of course that will depend at great length on how much land we end up with.
