Amish cooking reflects their rich German heritage, the simple way they live and the fresh ingredients they have available from their farms. Amish foods tend to be heavier than we are used to and reflect their hard working outdoor life.

Im looking for a recipe made by the Amish. In New Jersey their is a place called marketplace where the amish sell their homemade sauce. Hot to your mouth versus hot to your nose (no horseradish). Im looking for 2 recipes. The one the amish make with 1 cup ketsup that is sweet and tangy and is hot to the taste. What are the ingriedients used? Its pretty hot to your tongue but not suicide hot. The second recipe uses 1 cup ketsup and is sweet and tangy only this one goes right threw your nose and makes your nose water. I make chicken wings in a small oven that makes them crispy and brown almost like when you deep fry them. Thats what I will be using both sauces on that I like very much. Start with the ketsup and you have to figure out the rest. Unless you know someone who is Amish who will give you the ingriedients. The second one is not make by the Amish.
