This is one job I absolutely hate doing, so I do mine as little as possible. I use a mop, but never like the results. I prefer getting down on my hands and knees - maybe thats why I don't like doing this chore. It just seems that getting down on your hands and knees gets the job done better.

What about you?

I've been using a shmop for years now. It's a big rectangle flat head with a cover of terry cloth, that comes on and off for rinsing and washing. I love it, but when I want to do the scrub brush thing, I've got a scrub brush head that fits into my Bee Mop system.

I pop that in, and it makes short work of stripping the finish off, and getting the goop out.

I tend to just mop the wood floors as they need it, not really scrubbing unless its a spot that really is in bad need. However, the ceramic tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms have to be scrubbed with a tire brush about every other month to really clean the grout. I mop in between times.

I do the floors often because I have to with two children. There are always some sort of crumbs. We have primarily hardwood floors and we'd all be crunching down on something if I didn't. lol

I just use a ready mop after I sweep and it does a great job. I do this daily or every other day. I only need to scrub the bathrooms and the kitchen. (bathrooms are ceramic tile and the kitchen has linoleum that's older than dirt) I get on my hands and knees for those rooms and it's quite a workout! lol I don't do those rooms daily, but I do sweep them daily.

I get down on my hands and knees and scrub the flooring inside the door once a week, it needs it more but that all I do. All the other floors are hardwood, they are swept all the time but the kitchen gets a light scrub about twice a week.
