I'm in zone 3, but we can grow some plants from other zones, if we really "baby" them over the winter months.

We are kind of on the edge. To be safe I go by zone 4.:)

We are zone 6 or 6a depending on what map you use. ;) I haven't tried any plants from outside our zone yet. Our weather is really funny. They say here "if you don't like the weather in Tennessee, wait a day or two and it will change" and I am finding they are usually right! LOL

Forgive my ignorance.....when you go to buy plants or flowers, do they tell you what zone they'll do best in on the "label" or whatever??? I have a huge brick "planter bed" along one side of the front of our house & a big patch of ground between our front door & driveway.....I'd love to have beautiful flowers, plants, or even just greenery there next spring & summer, but I really don't know what I'm doing......I planted sunflowers in the box this past spring (I LOVE sunflowers!!) and they were enormous - had no idea they were that big in real life!!

Any suggestions?! Please?!

I'm definately in zone 8 - I found the map that has the whole USA and it's easier to tell..... :)

Zone 7 here

zone 5 or 6 depending on whose map you look at. Down by the rivers it's more a zone 6 but up here on the hillside, it's a 5 except I think there are sheltered bits in my garden where I'm a zone 6 too.

I think I'm on zone 6 but it's hard to tell.
