Dh's mom use to draw pictures and then embroider them to make wall hangings. We have a wonderful one of a cabin they lived in, hanging on the foyer wall upstairs. I wish we had gotten more when she passed on, but they were pretty much given away by then.

My grandmother use to embroider pillowcases and I have a couple pair of those. She also did tablecloths and tea towels.

I think it is pretty much a lost art now, you seldom see it anymore. Have you any embroidered work you've collected over the years or have you done any yourself?
