Beng as we've been talking about ironing, I'm wondering what type of ironing board you have.

I have a newer type one when we lived in the city. I hated it. Ugly steel type thing, that "squeaked" every time I set it up. I was determined to get a new one, but just never found one I wanted.

When we moved out here, I found an old antique wooden one at a garage type sale here in town. I paid $10.00 for it and I love it. I'm on the lookout for another one, similar in type so that I can use it for hanging quilts on.

What type do you have?

LOL a SQUEAKER!!! I got it when we got married, and it's been thru 3 covers, but it's legs are a Y shape not a T at the bottom.

I've been wanting a T shape because those tidy iron and ironboard hangers fit the T shapes. I lean it up against the closet wall.

I would love a wooden one I think :cherry: I'll keep my eyes open.

Well one thing I did find out, the wooden one I have doesn't squeak. BUT it only takes me about 10 minutes to put it up. It is quite the contrapion, so now I just leave it up all the time in the sewing room.

You should have seen dd the first time I tried putting it up. You know her and her gift of laughter. Well she about rolled on the floor laughing at me, trying to figure it out. Of course, dh wasn't much help, because when dd laughs he thinks its hysterical and then he laughs. I was so dang mad I kicked them both out of my sewing room and finally got it set up!!! :biggrinha

I have a regular (squeaker) one that stays up all the time. Its in my closet. I also have 2 old wooden ones that I use to hang quilts on. I got them at a yard sale years ago. They really are a pain to put up or take down, so they usually just stay up with a quilt over them.

I have my mom's old ironing board, it's exactly like one I saw on the Andy Griffith show one time, lol. It has a wooden board and metal legs. I remember my mom ironing on it all the time, she even ironed my dad's boxer shorts, lol.
