Does it come from a package, an old recipe you have or a new one you've found. Do you put marshmellows in it, add milk? Tell us how you make your hot chocolate or cocoa.

View Full Version : How do you drink your hot chocolate or cocoa? Old fashioned mamma 11-27-2003, 03:02 PM Does it come from a package, an old recipe you have or a new one you've found. Do you put marshmellows in it, add milk? Tell us how you make your hot chocolate or cocoa. Canadian gardener 11-27-2003, 05:19 PM I make mine with Fry's Cocoa about a 1/2 tsp, a tsp and a half of sugar and grind the two together in the bottom of a mug so that the cocoa breaks up and doesn't lump in bitter little balls when adding liquid. Then either I add skim milk powder and mix well and top up with hot water from the kettle or I add hot milk to the brim. Mix well and serve. Canadian gardener 11-27-2003, 05:26 PM Oh and then add a marshmallow if needed. Ds and Dd like them, I don't but the mini's are easier to manage than the jumbo size (yes I did that without thinking once) PrairieRose 11-28-2003, 03:24 PM I just make mine from one of the standard Hot Chocolate Mix recipes. We have found another version that tastes just like chocolate covered cherries too...Yum! If you want the recipe just holler;) Canadian gardener 11-28-2003, 05:27 PM I do, I'm hollering!!!! Sounds marvellous. Choco cherries are a wonderful flavour! calico 11-29-2003, 12:36 AM I don't like hot chocolate but the kids do! They love Tim Horton's hot chocolate and have been spoiled. They were given a couple of cans from Grandma and just when it was almost used up the boys won gift certificates to TH's and guess what they bought. With Christmas coming up they will be getting more. Canadian gardener 11-29-2003, 01:15 AM Dd works part time for Tim Hortons, she'll be glad to hear it. They have great cocoa and coffee. :coffee: My favourite coffee is a TH when I'm on the road. Love the Canadian cream donut with the cream centre and the maple frosting to go with it. No calories if it's eaten on a road trip. None! |
