Its so interesting because I so dislike clutter and yet the Victorian lifestyle has so much clutter. I guess its all in finding balance when decorating the Victorian way.

Great list! I guess everything in moderation and knowing how much you are likely to dust....lol! :mwhistle: :)

I do like the way the Victorian style incorporates so many different fabrics and textures.

I couldn't get the link to work, my computer kept telling me popups were blocked but the site didn't come up either so I guess dh's filters are on extra strong lately.

But a very Victorian invention, the ostrich down duster, is a great help dusting knick knacks because you don't have to move them, just steady them with a finger and lightly pass the ostrich down over them, it picks up dust magnetically, and you then slowly and steadily move the loaded duster to your ankle, give a little crack on your ankle and the dust will drop out on the floor where you can vacuum it away (the non victorian improvement on life)

i learnt that from the Clean Team stuff.
