When we were in BC a couple of years ago, we did this up a small mountain. We never made it to the top, we were all too pooped to do so, but it was a wonderful experience.

There aren't many places to go backpacking here in Manitoba, but its one area where I want the younger kids to see the joys of doing it. Its wonderful to be out in nature, enjoying everything you see, taking your time and carrying your backpack on your back, knowing that you'll arrive at your destination all on your own, with your own 2 feet.
