We love feeding the birds at this time of the year. Its so much fun to watch their personalities. We have Bluejays, Chickadees, Woodpeckers coming right now. The Chickadees are truly fun to watch and to see the dominate ones who want all the food. Then there are others who push the seed out for their friends on the ground. Its hilarious.
How about you? What type of birds come to your feeders during the winter months?

We feed year round.
We enjoy a lot of different birds. Tufted titmice, Cardinals,Chicakadees,Jays,Doves,Woodpec kers,Juncos,Finches...
They really do entertain you during the long winter months.
To see a bright red cardinal against the white snow of winter is such a wonderful sight.

We feed during the winter too. We get a good variety. Chickadees, cardinals, blue jays, finches too.
I haven't attracted any mourning doves here. They were so common when I was in NY, but I haven't seen even one here.

We have morning doves that are here during the summer, but leave in the fall. They are certainly noisy!!

I always feed the birds during the Winter months. We have Bluejays and some other kind of birds that are real tiny I'm going to do some research & find ot what they are. They sure are cute little things :)

I want to make some suet this year. I think it would be fun for Zachary to help make and hang outside.

That would be fun Sara. There is also a peanut butter mix you can make for them, I'll have to try to find the recipe and post it here.
I tell you though, they sure do eat lots and make quite the mess, but well worth it.

I loved watching the birds as a child. Here dh doesn't want to feed them because they poop on the car. (rolling my eyes) I think that since he is not here this winter, "what he don't know -won't hurt him!" ;)
