View Full Version : cast iron steamers? smnoel 10-15-2003, 10:59 PM Does anyone use cast iron steamers or kettles? Old fashioned mamma 10-15-2003, 11:51 PM Actually cast iron pots and frying pans are on my wishlist. I had them when we were first married and they were the best. We moved so much that we finally gave them away as we needed to unload some stuff so it wouldn't cost so much to move, kwim. ;) Seeing as this is our final home, I do want to get some. smnoel 10-17-2003, 07:34 PM http://www.plowhearth.com/product.asp?section_id=0&department=0&search_type=normal&search_value=cast%20iron%20steamer&pcode=5701 This is an example of the steamer that I was looking at. Aussie Mamma 10-17-2003, 08:16 PM Wow, I've never seen those (or heard of them), but those are beautiful designs for sale on the link you provided. Old fashioned mamma 10-17-2003, 08:17 PM Now I need to hide my head. That is so funny. No I don't have one, never had one and have never seen one!!! :D smnoel 10-18-2003, 12:48 AM Here's the other one I saw. I received their catalog the other day and was thinking they looked nice, but wasn't sure on how functional they are. http://www.plowhearth.com/product.asp?section_id=0&department=0&search_type=normal&search_value=kettle&pcode=1170 Old fashioned mamma 10-18-2003, 01:44 AM I like the last one and think it would probably be more functional. I guess you'd want to have a woodstove though for that one, because running it on your electric stove, would seem costly to me, don't you think? |
