We're going to be getting some wood in soon. Precut. ;) I used to help my family cut and stack as a kid. We don't have a woodburning stove yet, but will be burning quite a few regular fires in the fireplace.
How much wood do you get for winter?

How I envy you. We use to have a fireplace in a home we rented in Winnipeg and I loved it. Someday, will have a woodburning fireplace or stove and then will pack the wood in as well.

Huge, huge, mountainous amounts of wood. SO cuts down his own trees from our land, usually most have suffered from previous years ice storms or hurricane winds. We do have a big wood heater stove in the basement that is our primary heat. We also have a heat pump but our house is big and it would never keep it warm, plus our power is off every little bit. SO handles all the wood heat related activities.

We use an airtight woodstove as our primary heat for the winter. We put up 5 or 6 cords of wood. We buy it in 8 ft lengths, cut and split ourselves. Dh and the boys spent the greater part of today working on that. The boys are getting so big, it's nice not to have to help anymore. :)
