I love house plants and once a month, I usually try to pick up a couple. I've just got an arrangement of cacti, but its not looking too healthy. All the other plants are growing like weeds.

How about you, do you grow many houseplants?

Not a one!

I found I can kill just about anything! LOL

I also have to think about my cats and I don't have a clue what is dangerous for them. I have many silk flowers and my cats even chew on those! :D

I love houseplants and plan to get more, but right now I only have a 10" potted peace lily and some african violets in my window in the kitchen.

I have some hooks all ready for some hanging plants in the livingroom and would love to pick up a few more floor plants.

I've been kicking around the idea of a nice terrarium too.

I have a bunch of houseplants right now. They are mostly in the kitchen, but I am rebuilding a plant growing area in the basement. I lost a lot of tropicals one year in the basement because of the cold, so I am only keeping cold tolerate plants down there now. I also have two terrariums full of carnivourous plants.

Sara, I have a Peace Lily as well and really like it, especially when it blooms. It sure does take a lot of water though, its amazing. I'd love to get a couple more of them because they are such a full plant, kwim.

I don't have too many. I do have a pothos, spider, chrismas cactus, bamboo, and an african violet that I've actually kept alive and have had flower 3 times.
I've killed many African Violets in my day, guess this one likes me.:)

Our old house doesn't have the light for plants....I really wish it did. I would love, love! to have lots of indoor plants.

Our old house doesn't have the light for plants...

There are now low wattage, compact florescent bulbs in "cool white" that you could use to grow indoor plants. There are other plants that do not require a lot of light that you could grow. I grow plants in my basement which receive no natural light.

I am laughing because I have lots of house plants and they are only two kinds...well three actually...

Peace Lillies~ I have found that they will acclimate to any enviornment in the house.

Philidendrons~ But even I can kill them!

The third kind...SILK!!!

Does anyone know of some tried and true hard to kill house plants other than these? Don't suggest cactus, because I even killed the ones I bought in Phoenix in the airport!!!

Dont kick me off this board!

I have a spider plant, Mother In Law's tongue, a Christmas cactus I've had for a while, but it's never bloomed and a Philodendron.

I used to have 2 beautiful, huge African Violets, but DH killed them because he thought they should go outside for the summer.

And my X-mas cactus is 1/2 dead because SIL came here for vacation and thought that should go outside on my front steps with my spider plant I keep out there. That night, we had a cold snap and it's been limp ever since. But one of my friends just gave me one she propagated off her's.

I have put aloe, hawthornia and swedish ivy through quite a bit of abuse and they still survived. I gave my youngest daughter a hawthornia and she loves it. It gets knocked out of its pot almost daily and it barely gets watered, but it is still hanging on.

It is a bit ironic that most plants from Africa can't take the sun.

I grow things outdoors very well, but kill any plant I try to bring indoors. I've even tried the easy plants like "mother-in-law's tongue" "Creeping Charlie" "Wandering Jew" "Maternity plant" and killed them all.

Once fall arrives- I have to satisfy myself with going to my mother in law's house to get my plant fix.

Well I'm busy killing some poor innocent patience plants that I decided to bring indoors to winter over. Its a slow death for the poor things. I'm not the best indoor gardener.

I do have an aloe vera plant that I keep for burns and something my mil gave me that thrives above my kitchen sink where chances are I remember to water it. :D
