Do you take time during the day or do you do crafts in the evening once the kids are in bed.

I always quilt during the evening when the kids are on downtime, reading or playing games. On weekends, I like to quilt during the day.

I like crafting in the evening. Sundays are a great time too, after all the chores are done.

I work on my crafting when Zachary is in school and Alexandra naps. I only get a bit of time then. I also pick up my crocheting for a few right before Gabe comes home from work and before dinner is ready. If motivated, I will do a bit once the children are sleeping too.

Weekends I could take out more time because Gabe is here to watch over the little ones, but usually we're doing something together and I don't seem to make the time to do much.

I find myself picking up and setting down a lot. lol

I do mine when ever I can squeeze in a couple minutes. I generally crochet or knit- so I just take it with me and do a few minutes during my lunch break, or while waiting for the kids at dance class or other functions.

I do mine in the evening and sometimes afternoons all depending on how the day goes. Weekends are hard as we are usually doing things together during the day.

I usually can only get something done when the kids are in bed. If I'm lucky I might get a few minutes when dd is napping and ds is in school. Usually I can't get much done on weekends (even when dh is home)

It varies with the season. During the summer and fall (canning season, doncha-know!) I don't do so much. But late autumn and winter - pre-christmas - my little girl and I do a lot of crafting for Christmas gifts. Also, I am a Girl Scout leader, and so I am always experimenting with crafts that I can teach my troop.

Our winters can be very bleak; with the sun going down by 4:30 and days upon days of endless rain, so snuggling down in the living room with some knitting or hand-sewing and my pretty little daughter can be very snug and comforting. I'd rather spend my evenings that way than in front of the tv!

Also, my dh is a long-haul truck driver, which makes our evenings more quiet, I think.

I take a few hours in the afternoon during the winter. I don't do much after supper because I find it hard to see by lamplight.

I don't get much done in the spring or summer. Now that it's getting dark earlier and earlier and the rush to put up the garden is over (not that it was a huge rush this year as our garden was rather pitiful), I find more time.

I can only do machine sewing after the kids are in bed, or I get too frustrated by interruptions. Knitting and crocheting I can do in bits and pieces throughout the day. Hand quilting, mending, or darning, I prefer to do in the evenings. I use them as my excuse to put in a movie! ;)
