Ours is today and I know the US is in Nov. So how do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you have lots of family in, go out to family or celebrate it quietly at home just with immediate family. Is it a big occasion for you?
We usually celebrate ours quietly just with our little family, but this year we've invited one of dh's friends, whose wife walked out on him a few months ago and took the kids. Along with that, his mom passed away 2 weeks ago, so he is really lonely. It'll be different having someone in this year.

We celebrate it quietly at home, just us. We cook/eat way too much food and make ourselves absolutely miserable. LOL! Some years dh's bday also falls on Thanksgiving so we have extra reason to celebrate. :)

Ours is just a simple family day. (just us four, but this year my mom and possibly Gabe's family too  ) We stuff ourselves silly and just spend time together. We rent a family movie and just stay home and relax. I'd love to start a new tradition, so that it's a little more festive and fun.

Well I stuffed myself silly, forget the LFL program at the village. :D It was a nice time though spent with dh's friend.
Here is a neat website about the Canadian Thanksgiving and how it came to be.

I'm glad you had a nice day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Gabe and I celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving for two years because our jobs had us working on the US holiday.

I'm surprised I even got the meal cooked with all the fun that was going on today. ;)

It varies- depends on if I have to work or not. If I work, dh and the kids go to his parents house for all the trimmings. If I'm off, we have my family to our house for all the feasting. So far, we have not opted to just celebrate with our family- we include the extended family, friends or acquaintances who might not be celebrating otherwise.
