This year I'm bringing in the rain barrels to melt snow in over the winter months. I want to bring down the water bill and use the melted snow for watering the plants. I may even heat it up for washing my hair. The report is were suppose to get lots of snow, so I want to take advantage of it.

Do you bring your water barrels in and melt the snow. Its a job for the kids to do and they'll have fun doing it. Carrying chunks in and watching it melt.

I plan on putting it right beside my washer. I can just pour the water in the washer when it comes to washing clothes.

Great idea, we usually just leave them lined up by the barn for the winter.
