These are one of my favorite plants and although I don't have one at this time, I plan on purchasing one has soon as they begin to come out in the stores. I love that you can have them blooming a couple times of the year by allowing them to lie dormat in a cool place a few weeks before Christmas and the same at Easter.

Do you have Christmas Cactus in your home?

My Sil gave me hers when they thought they were moving a few months ago. I've never had one before & have managed to not only keep it alive but it's grown so much! I do notice some growth on the tips of the branches. Flowers? Can't wait to see.:)

My Holiday cactus does have flower buds that will be popping any day now. Don't think it will wait til Thanksgiving, lol.
Can't believe I've kept it alive & it's going to reward me by putting on quite the show!:)

I have a Christmas Cactus and love it. It flowers for me November and March/April. There are so many colours you can get now. Mine is a bright pink. I had a red one but it didn't do well in our move a few years ago. It was getting real big too.

I love Christmas cactus. Gabe bought me one a couple of years ago. It was in a hanging basket and was so full and just loaded with blooms. I loved it. Unfortunately, I don't still have it. I hope to get a new one this year though. ;)

My MIL gave me one a few months ago, it was dying in her home, and I can't seem to rejuvenate it. Can anyone give me any tips or pointers? It came from an old friend of hers that passed this summer, The claim is that it's about 10 years old.

I love them too, wish I could give you some tips Ellise, but my mil was the one who grew them.

She kept hers in a south east facing room, in the window, and typical of her plant care she let her plants dry out a bit, then sat them in water for a good soak, then drain, then let dry out a bit again.

She also used those Jobst or whatever the brand is, fertilizer spikes for houseplants.

wish I could help more but I don't know how to make them bloom on schedule. Hers just bloomed a lot any old time it felt like it.
