winter of 2002 I was feeling it was time to devote energy toward getting a birdfeeder. We had gotten a storm door for the back so my cats could lay in the back and watch the birds. Come February of 2003 I took it down. I have a fairly small lot at present. About 30 birds would feed at once (my back yard is only about 10x20). While they weren't one of the 3 birds on the feeder, they would line up on the wooden fence...cleaning thier beaks. And the ones on the feeder would get picky and I would watch them spray the birdfeed out onto the ground. Tore up the fence good. Just letting anyone know. I love the birds, but if you have a small yard and a wooden fence for them to sit on, put the feeder up front...though now I'm dealing with bird doodie on the front steps.

Yup anywhere you put bird feeders, they will drop seed on the ground. I'm sure its for their family members. You'll also deal with bird "droppings". But birds are so fun to watch. They take on quite a life of their own.
