How do you celebrate Mother's Day?

My mother died when we were very young. My step mother was given homemade cards and whatever we could make when we were children. She didn't like us (and we really didn't like her).

Since I'm not a "Mom" thanks to my step-mother, we don't really celebrate. DH never had children either, so we don't celebrate "dads" day either.

Susie, let me be the first to wish you a Happy Mother's Day. I believe that all women mother in some way, whether they have children or not.

I usually get breakfast cooked for me, gifts of some kind and sometimes I am taken out for lunch. My dh is working in the shop today and one of my sons goes away on holidays on Monday so I think he and I will probably go up into the mountains and enjoy lunch together. My other son is working but he'll ring me later. This evening, my son who lives with us will cook dinner - he's a chef so it will be something yummy.

Thank you Bethany! That makes me feel great! DH has bought me a mother's day card or two. He says that our "animals" picked it out for me.

I have received nice parcels from my DDs and they would usually call me...but today I'll be away to a Mosaics class all morning and then to work all afternoon & evening, so there will be no chance to chat with them.

Thank you maggie! I've always wanted children. Not everyone that doesn't have them doesn't want them. People used to just assume that because I never had a child, I didn't want children. They just never asked.
