Can you see them? The moon is bright, can you see it.

Its interesting, when we lived in the city, seldom were we able to see our galazy in all its splendour. There were street lights and lights from businesses and homes and often the skies were cloudy from smoke in the air.

Here out on the open prairies, you can almost count the stars. Its so black outside, and when I step out my front door its wonderful to try and find the little dipper, the big dipper, and all the rest. The kids love looking at their books and then finding each particular star, especially the North star.

As I look into the skies, I wonder if you can see the same thing? Do you get to watch the Northern lights like we do here. They dance like fairies and fill the northern sky as it gets cooler up north. Its awesome to watch.

We didn't see the stars last night- due to clouds, but OH. . . some nights they are like diamonds glittering.

We had our annual hayride/weiner roast last night- but missed the stars. I remember one year we had a bunch of underpriveledge kids come from St. Louis and that was the one thing on the farm they were in awe of- the stars. They can't see them in the big city.

I've only seen the Northern Lights once in my life- this far south. I was about 6 or 7 years old. I can remember my parents pulling the car off the road and we sat and watched the lights flicker and shimmer for a long time- they were so pretty! I can only imagine what it must be like further north.

Denise, they are wonderful. They are different colors and if you can imagine a fairy dancing in a colorful long dress, thats what they look like where we live. Because were on the prairies, its even better to see them because the sky lights up. Its truly amazing.

WE are star gazers too! I just love looking up at the stars and dreaming away! Shooting stars are our favourite! We usually have a bonfire once on the weekend in the summer months and there we all are looking UP!

The other night we were driving home from somewhere, and I had my head against the window, looking at the stars. Dh told me to just open the window and hang my head out like a dog.LOL I never tire of looking at them and like you CJ I never saw them when we lived in the city. I have not been fortunate enough to see the northern lights. I hear they are spectacular.
