We always fill plastic eggs and the kids hunt for them. Even at their age, they were asking me this week if we were going to have an egg hunt.

We try to get to Good Friday service if they have one at our church and of course we always try to make it to church service on Easter Sunday.

What are your traditions?

It's a 4 day tradition for us. Starting with Holy Thursday, we go to church in the evening to celebrate The Last Supper and the washing of the feet. Good Friday is solemn with church, fasting and reflecting. Saturday is prepping the house and the food for the big celebration on Sunday! We have a big feast (too much really :kokkie: ). The kids put out their Easter baskets Saturday night for the Easter Bunny. They just get candy, no other gifts.

Happy Easter everyone! :zx11king:

We always let ds hunt eggs (plastic, reusable ones) in the backyard after we come home from church and Sunday School. I put a coin in each (a penny in each and then a couple have nickels, a dime, and a quarter). A friend of ours had us over for Easter when ds was really small and she did that with her kids (and ds that day) and he has wanted it that way ever since. He also gets his basket afterward (a few candies and something fun - this year he got a Scooby mini notebook and some bubbles). Dh and I spend the early afternoon cooking and then we eat around mid-afternoon.
