I planted 2 apple trees along with a couple cherry trees last spring, but didn't get anymore this spring. I want to put another couple of trees around the house. I planted the trees I do have, where when I look out my windows, I can see the trees in blossom in the spring.

What type do you grow?

We have two apple trees, one cherry tree, one peach tree and one pear tree. We lost a pear and a peach last year, the snow was too heavy for them. Next spring we want to get some dwarf apple trees, another cherry, pear and peach. Aren't the apple blossoms beautiful?

We have 2 cherry trees (along with 7 bush cherrys), 2 apple trees- 1 with 5 varieties grafted on it, 2 peach trees, 2 plum trees, 2 pear trees.

Pretty standard stuff for us. Some of my friends grow persimmons, but I don't care much for them.

I have a grapefruit tree as a bonsai. It is about 7 years old and two mango seedlings that are about a month old.

We have cherry, apple, peach, plum and pear trees. All of them were supposed to be dwarf trees but by the looks of things, no one told the trees. We also have lots of fig bushes and are trying to grow blueberries, grapes and cranberries.

We have two apple trees and one cherry tree. All of which are not in the best condition. I need to look into what can be done for them to bear fruit that I consider edible. The apples looked sooo bad and the birds, squirrels, and bunnies had a field day with the cherries.

We don't have any fruit trees currently. I am thinking about it though.

sara, check with your local extension office. They might have a guide for you on your trees. When I was growing up my friend's dad had 2 cherry trees. He had to get nets on them quickly when the fruit appeared or the birds would have them all.

There are *NO* trees here!

But when we were in VA, we had 3 apples, 1 cherry, 1 damsen(sp?), and 2 peaches....the peaches never bore while we were there but we always had tons of cherries (if we could get to them before the crows! And we made some of the best deep-fried apple pies in the world!!

OOHHH - I miss my trees!!

I have a good sour pie cherry out the back, and that's it for fruit. Don't know the variety, it's not a Montmerency, but it's good.

We have two old pear trees that bear well. Also have two peach trees about 3 years old that had 4 or 5 peaches this year. Maybe next season!

This spring we planted two apple and one plum. We need to plant another plum as after we got this one home we discovered it is a variety that needs to have 2 to pollinate and bear fruit.

Also have a nice persimmon tree that has tons of persimmons on it this year. When they are ripe this fall, I may try to freeze some pulp if I have time.

My 5 in 1 tree came from either Henry Fields or Gurney's. . . .It's a dwarf tree- I'm short :)

Thanks so much. Have you been pleased with the tree. I was hoping to find someplace that would ship me one this fall and the ones you mentioned ship in the spring. Thanks again .

We have a valencia orange tree and myers lemon tree. They both may not back bounce from a recent cold snap we had though. :( We had a record low of 29* a couple of weeks ago and I'm afraid it may have been too much for them.

OH Maggie! Can I come live with you? Gotta love the sub-tropics!

We have apple, cherry, two very immature Rainier cherry (like four cherries per tree this year), Italian plum (prune), pear (not a good producer).

We also have strawberries, raspberries and TONS of blackberries. Oh and blueberries - we had two bushes & I bought two more.

I'd like to add some more apple trees in the future. We really enjoy dried apples and apple sauce, in addition to fresh apples. I also found an apricot variety that's supposed to do well in this (cool) climate.

mmmmmmm grapefruits and macadamia, I can't even imagine that!

Ours sound so boring.

We have 3 apple trees which we planted and they produce very well. I crab apple. 1 cherry. At least 10 wild plums (juicy yellow or red plums). Lots of hazel nuts and butternuts (but we have to fight the squirrels for them and they usually win).
We also have strawberries, raspberries and tons of blackberries (which bring the bears). Samon berries are plentiful too....

Hollyhill reminded me that we have salmon berries as well. I don't care for them (a bit tart), but they are a native species, so I keep them as my small contribution toward species preservation.
