I know it's still a bit early, but was just wondering if you celebrate or do anything special for St. Patrick's Day? I haven't before but am thinking of doing something this year, just for fun. Maybe serve a green meal or at least a green cake with green icing and some lime koolaid. It's been a long winter and I'm looking for any excuse to have a party.

St. Patty's day is my birthday, but we still don't do anything to celebrate, lol. I usually buy clothes for my b'day and dh and dd take me out for meal, but we don't do anything special because it's St. Patty's.

No we don't do anything either. We just never have, but it might be fun to start a new tradition.

We don't have any traditions for St. Patricks Day :stpaddy: but there's no Irish in my family. Sometimes I have fun going green just because it's been a long winter! I'll cook up something green just for fun. Ds in elementary school makes sure he wears something green to school. The tradition is you get to pinch someone who isn't wearing green, to give them a little green. :clover:

DD has to wear green to school to keep from getting pinched as well.

We wear something green and I have shamrocks throughout the house..posters and such. We usually have a green supper too with lots of green veggies, green drink and something green for dessert! :)

Besides wearing something green I always serve the kids green milk for breakfast.:clover:
Dinner used to be lamb stew until the price of lamb went through the roof.
Now we make Guiness stew, soda bread and drink a nice Irish stout beer. :patty:

Being that we are Irish, we do the usual wearing of the green, the house has some "St. Pat's" day decorations up, but just a few. We used to have the traditional Irish meal of Cornbeef and Cabbage and Irish soda bread, but as the kids got older they no longer liked it so now I usually do an Irish beef stew with the soda bread, if the day falls during the week, it all depends on what's going on that day also.

I usually celebrate with the food I cook. Corned Beef is on the menu along with cabbage and red potatoes. I remember getting "pinched" in school for not wearing green. First of all, our clothes were hand-me-downs, and we didn't have anything green. Second of all, I would tell them that I was Hungarian, not Irish. Thought that would get me off the hook!

You evil, evil woman.;)

I'm already trying to gently let him know I cannot eat much more of that stuff.
I still can taste all that I had last season. I used to think it was pretty good, not any more. He adores it, woe is me.
