My spider goes crazy when I stick it on my front steps (direct sun all day) for the summer. It gets so big and bushy and get about 6 shoots of babies on it. It is so beautiful when I bring it in the house in the fall. Then it dies back by about 1/2 it's size- and comes right back the next summer.

I put nearly all of my plants outside during the summer.
Here are a few that get direct sun:
hibiscus
sundews
pitcher plants
sweet flag
umbrella thorn tree
grapefruit tree
venus fly trap

We do what we call wintering over....because we don't actually bring our outdoor plants into the house. We have a shed in the backyard that we put them in and keep it above freezing. We save the following to enjoy year after year:
Alice Dupont Mandevilla
Asparagus ferns
Spider plants
Ice plant
Geraniums
Don't know the name, it's a huge, purple jew
What else Gripey?

Wandering jew?
We have one of those. My ds made a dish garden at one of the library programs this summer and everything in it died but the wandering jew and one other thing that I can't remember what it is.
We don't bring our plants indoors for the winter unless we get some really cold weather for our parts.
