I'm trying to do the mystery quilt on Frugal Village and I'm just not sure I like my colors. It calls for 4 shades of the same basic color - light, med, med. dark and dark. I will go ahead and finish it in the hopes that the colors come together in the end. I'm using greens and now I wish it was reds. I think I'm just in the mood for something bright and bold. Of course, I think all quilts, even crazy quilts, are beautiful so I'll probably like it in the end - next time, I'll make it with reds!

When you start a project, and aren't sure of your colors, do you see it thru to the end and hope it works out or

Do you stop and restart with different colors?

BTW if you are in need of learning to quilt, there are some excellent tutorials on Frugal Village by our own CJ.

Pat, I keep going. I've found that most colors end up going together perfectly once the quilt is done. So often we worry about the colors when we don't need to.

Especially seeing as this is a wall hanging and not large, you'll be fine. It would also look great in red - I know because I know the outcome. :mwhistle:

I plan on making some of these for Christmas this year and I'm going to do them in red, blues, greens, purples and possibly yellows.

If I like this wallhanging, I may make some for Christmas as well and use Christmas colors on it.

Pat, Christmas colors would look stunning in this wall hanging.

Let you in on a little secret, I'm doing another mystery wall hanging tutorial. I'm working on it now, similar to this one and yet more stunning yet!! No triangles again, just simple sewing.

Oh CJ,
I can't wait. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. You do a great job of explaining it and the pictures really, really help.
