My office is in a renovated house and the house next door has been abandoned for years. Recently someone bought it and is slowly redoing it to make into an office building. The house had an old tin roof that is pitiful and I expected them to just put a new shingle roof on it but NO, they are putting a new tin roof on the house. I grew up in a house that had a tin roof and I still remember the sound of rain on that roof. Lovely! I am so glad that they are fixing the building up, now do you think they will let me come hang out inside there on rainy days. Have you ever experienced a tin roof and rain?

Yes, growing up our home had a tin roof. I loved the sound of listening to rain and even hail fall on the roof.

Our next door neighbour here in our small town, has a tin roof.

DH and I hope to have enough saved for a new roof this summer and it will be a tin roof. They're great! Love the sound of rain on the roof but I also like the fact that they outlast shingle roofing by at least 10 yrs.
