We've put our bird feeder where the cats can't get into it, but the squirrels can get into it, albeit tough, but they do. I keep chasing it out, but wondered how you did it so that the squirrels don't get into your feeders.

I have seen some slick plastic shields that go on top of the feeders. THe plastic is too slick for their feet to grip so they slide off. My Grandmother has one and it seems to work great!

Hmmm, well I'll have to see if I can find that in the local hardware store. Thanks Melissa.

A cheap thing to try is greasing the pole. ;)

Don't even ask how much birdseed we let the chipmunks have. lol I left a bag on the enclosed porch and they looked so happy, we let them have it. ugh

Its just that with the drought this year, many of our birds aren't around, so I want to the Chickadees around for the winter months.
Sara, I haven't seen a chipmunk since I moved here, but the squirrels will go right to our screen on our kitchen window and become "peeping squirrels" instead of peeping Toms. There so funny and if they weren't such a bother and get into so many things, I might feed them as well, but if they get inside your attic, they can do tons of damage!!

All I can say is during the cold, dreary winter months, watching the squirrels through the windows brings me so much joy.
