Aussie Mamma 10-09-2003, 07:27 PM #1 on the list is a homestead! LOL!
Other things that come to mind..... a VitaMix, a generator, outdoor clotheslines, outdoor bbq pit (maybe), and so much more!
Old fashioned mamma 10-09-2003, 07:58 PM Its funny because I began purchased things for my homestead, probably about 10 years ago. I purchased some antique items and items I would fall in love with, and often didn't even have a place for them. When I walked into our home, I knew exactly where those items would go.
Someone said to me about a picture (antique) that I have and wondered when I had purchased it. When I told them 8 years ago and that I purchased it just for this house, they couldn't believe it. The wall it hangs on is exactly perfect!!!
CAGmomof2 10-20-2003, 10:22 PM #1 Thing on our List for Homesteading is A Homestead .
slowtypinwoman 10-21-2003, 02:09 PM If it is a wish list, Id love a hot house. On a more realistic note, I'd like a generator.
Aussie Mamma 10-25-2003, 01:45 AM Well, we still need the homestead, but I got one of my wish list items tonight! :D We went to Sam's (warehouse club) to check out the new store (they have been remodeling for months) and there was a Vita-Mix demonstration going on. We know one of the store managers so we asked him about it and it was part of a road show that would only be going through Sunday. I finally convinced dh to stop and watch a demonstration and he was so impressed that he said okay to buying it!!!!! :) We got the wet container and the dry container (the dry will grind grains, make doughs, etc.). The rep made a fresh fruit juice blend (strawberries, bananas, apples, grapes, pineapple, oranges), ice cream/sorbet, warm tortilla soup (this was the one that got dh! LOL!), freshly ground peanut butter, and was still making more things as we were leaving.
I am so excited!!!!!!!
Old fashioned mamma 10-25-2003, 05:14 AM Aussie mamma, I'm excited for you. That is just the coolest.
When I purchased my Whisper mill, the store had a juicer and they made some fresh juice from 1 apple, 1 stalk of celery and 1 carrot. I couldn't believe the wonderful taste, it was incredible. Its also suppose to be very healthy.
Enjoy your new toy. You'll have it all down pat by the time you get your homestead (and I know you will).
smnoel 10-26-2003, 02:07 AM Oh cool. Congratulations on your vita mix. They have some great recipes on their site. I was eyeing that cashew butter recipe. YUMMY. ;)
It looks like quite a machine. Enjoy!
Aussie Mamma 10-26-2003, 01:25 PM It also comes with a cookbook full of great recipes. I have glanced at the recipes on the website, but I'm going to have to go give it a more thorough look to see if any aren't in the cookbook.
I think we are really going to enjoy it. :)
