Old fashioned mamma

I use to love going to my grandpa's and play in the hay stack that he kept in the barn. Usually there were a few barn cats and you could play with them. My cousins, brothers and myself would have hay fights and would come out of the barn when called for supper, covered in hay. We had so much fun.
What about you?

Sure we did-- I have vivid memories of my brother and neighbor boy locking my in the hayloft, so they could have peace and quiet. Mom would find me about 2 hours later, screaming my head off :)
We loved to play in the loft though-- and the momma cats would have their kittens in the loft (we'd love to play with them)
Now-- my asthma prevents me from being in the loft too much.

Yes, we sure did too! Our barn was full of hay and straw. There was a loft area that we used to climb up to and swing off a rope into a big pile of loose hay....just thinking of it makes me nervous now (as a Mom!!) and yet we did it all the time and had a blast!
One time one of my younger brothers fell down the hole (it was there to throw the hay down to the cows below)...he landed on one of their back and went for a wild ride.....we were laughing so hard at him and didn't even see the danger in it! Silly kids!
Another time I took one of my Mom's Avon sample lipsticks (remember they were in a little white case and lid), I took it to the barn to try it out..lol!!...well, I was putting some hay down for the cows and it got caught in the string on the bale while I was taking it off....Dad still reminds me of how one of the cows looked so pretty with her new lipstick!
Great memories!
Sunshine-we had so many barn cats and there was always kittens hiding somewhere.
